acanthus leaf column head

The acanthus leaf column head is a polyurethane column capital worked with acanthus leaf decoration. Fitted over the top end of the column shaft, it is used as a classical architectural finishing element. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Being much lighter than a stone or plaster capital, it can be carried by one person and installed quickly. As it is cast in moulds, the leaf curves and proportions repeat identically on every piece.
