A balustrade top profile is the polyurethane finishing trim that sits beneath the handrail or on top of the base in a balustrade (railing) system. It works as a top transition piece that completes the posts and balusters on balconies, terraces, stairs and garden railings. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; outdoors it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, blister or warp, and takes paint well. Because it is lighter than plaster or concrete, it is easy to fit on railing tops at height. Since it is moulded, the profile section repeats identically on every piece and joints align cleanly.
