A large ceiling rose is a wide-diameter polyurethane rose element that surrounds the chandelier or light point on the ceiling and is suited to large ceilings. It serves the same function as a ceiling medallion; it is mostly round, floral, or medallion-patterned. It is used in wide halls, lobbies, and high-ceilinged spaces to create a centre accent. Because polyurethane is light, even a large-diameter rose fixes easily to the ceiling with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted to match the ceiling colour; the risk of cracking is lower than with plaster.
