A decorative wood cross-section is a polyurethane decorative element that imitates the ring-patterned surface of a tree trunk cut crosswise. It is used as wall decor, a signage backing and a rustic interior detail to give the look of tree rings. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or warp, and can be painted in wood tones. It is far lighter than a real wood section, does not rot and is unaffected by moisture; because it is mould-cast, the ring pattern comes out crisp.
