A decorative door architrave is a polyurethane edge profile mounted around the door casing, at the junction of the casing and the wall. It is used along the edges of interior doors to cover the gap between the casing and the wall and to frame the door. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike a timber architrave it is unaffected by moisture and installs more practically. Because it is mould-cast, the profile cross-section is identical on every piece.
