A decorative ceiling block is a solid-form polyurethane element used to create a bulky relief or step on the ceiling surface. It is placed to imitate a beam, form a stepped section, or create a pronounced decorative projection on the ceiling. It is used in classic and modern ceiling designs to add volume and a shadow effect. Unlike a solid stone or plaster block, the polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied to the ceiling with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted. Being lightweight, it installs without loading the ceiling.
