An oversized decorative pillar is a polyurethane decorative column element produced in large diameter and height, giving the look of a vertical support. It is used in high-ceilinged living rooms, entrances and wide facades to create a monumental effect; it is usually completed with a base and a capital. The polyurethane material is lightweight and goes on with assembly adhesive and, at large sizes, a mechanical fixing; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, peel or warp, and can be painted. It is far lighter than stone and concrete and, even at large size, easy to transport and install. As the details are mould-formed, the same form repeats on every piece.
