wall post base

A wall post base is a polyurethane plinth piece placed at the bottom of a pilaster or half-column (post) applied to the wall, neatly finishing the post. It organises the transition between the lower end of the post and the floor or skirting and forms a base wider than the shaft. It is used beneath pilaster applications on living room, entrance and hallway walls. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with installation adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike plaster it does not break, unlike wood it is not affected by moisture, and its installation is faster. Because it is mould-cast, the base profile matches the post cross-section.
