wall-mounted column

A wall-mounted column is a half-column (pilaster) type mounted with its shaft resting against the wall. Unlike a full round column, its back is flat, so it sits flush against the wall surface and projects partly outward. It is used at door edges, wall corners and wide wall surfaces to provide a vertical accent. Because it is made of polyurethane it is lightweight and is fixed with mounting adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted; it installs faster and more easily than stone or plaster versions. Because it is mould-cast, the shaft profile is identical on every piece. Polure produces wall-mounted columns in different diameters and heights with matching capitals and bases.
