A lightweight architectural element is the general name for low-weight building decoration parts made from polyurethane and used for ornamentation on building facades and interiors. It covers architectural details such as door surrounds, cornices, columns, window sills and arches. Polyurethane is much lighter than stone or concrete, so it adds no extra load to the facade, is easier to handle, and is fixed with a combination of construction adhesive and mechanical fixing. It resists moisture and impact, will not crack or swell, and can be painted. Because it is moulded, the profile details repeat on every piece.
