embossed column shaft

An embossed column shaft is a polyurethane column piece with fluting, relief patterns or detailing on its surface. It is used in classical-style interior and exterior spaces to form the main body of a column, to clad load-bearing pillars or to build a free-standing decorative column. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Because it is far lighter than stone or plaster columns, transport and installation are easy, and on exterior facades it is unaffected by moisture. Since the shaft is mould-cast, the surface relief repeats identically on every piece. Polure produces embossed column shafts in a range of diameters and heights.
