embossed ceiling ornament

An embossed ceiling ornament is a single decorative polyurethane element placed on a specific section of the ceiling and projecting outward in relief. It is most often used as a medallion around a chandelier or as detailing in the centre of the ceiling. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly to the ceiling with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Because it is lighter than plaster alternatives, ceiling installation can be done by a single person and the risk of it falling is low.
