door side plinth

A door side plinth is the polyurethane piece forming the base beneath a column or pilaster placed around a door. It is used to complete the junction of the vertical element beside the door with the floor through decorative detailing. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted. Although it sits close to the floor, polyurethane withstands water and moisture so it does not deteriorate and, unlike a wooden plinth, does not rot. Since it is mould-cast, the plinth profile repeats identically on every piece. Polure produces door side plinths in a range of sizes and profile options.
