over-door crowning
Over-door crowning is a polyurethane decorative arrangement applied to crown the upper part of a doorway. It is used to give the doorway a vertical architectural accent and a finished framed look. The polyurethane is lightweight and applies to the wall with construction adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike wood, it is unaffected by moisture and installs quickly. Because the pieces are mould-cast, the ornamentation repeats identically on every unit. Polure produces over-door crowning elements in a range of sizes.
