above-door motif
An above-door motif is a relief-patterned polyurethane decorative element placed on the upper part of a door opening. It is used indoors to ornament the doorway and create a focal point on the wall surface. The polyurethane is lightweight and applies directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Compared with plaster it is resistant to breakage and easy to install. Because the pieces are mould-cast, the motif detail repeats identically on every unit. Polure produces above-door motifs in a range of patterns and sizes.
