A classical chandelier base is a polyurethane decorative ceiling rose finished in a classical style that surrounds the point where the chandelier is hung on the ceiling. It decorates the chandelier's mounting point to form a central ornament on the ceiling; it is used in rooms with chandeliers such as living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly to the ceiling with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than a plaster rose makes ceiling mounting easier and reduces the risk of falling. Since it is mould-produced, the ornament details repeat identically on every piece.
