classical boiserie corner

A classical boiserie corner is a polyurethane decorative element that forms the corner junction of panel frames in a classical boiserie arrangement made of wall panelling. It is used as a corner ornament at the points where the frame battens intersect at right angles and gives the panel arrangement a finished appearance; it appears in panelling on living room, bedroom and corridor walls. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike a wood panelling corner, it does not rot, attract insects or react to moisture. Since it is mould-produced, the corner motifs repeat identically on every piece.
