A classical architectural cornice moulding is a decorative transition profile carrying classical ornamental motifs, applied along the corner where the wall meets the ceiling. It frames the ceiling edge, softens the wall-to-ceiling junction, and creates a channel for concealed lighting. Cornice mouldings made from polyurethane are lightweight; unlike plaster versions they are carried and fitted by a single person and mount directly with construction adhesive. They resist moisture and impact, will not crack or swell, and can be painted. Because they are mould-cast, the profile depth and motif detail repeat identically along every metre, so there is no pattern shift at the joints.
