classical architectural column

A classical architectural column is a decorative element with a load-bearing appearance, placed vertically against a wall surface or within an opening and shaped according to the classical orders. It usually consists of a plinth, shaft, and capital; it is used indoors and on facades to create a vertical accent and separate transitions. Columns made from polyurethane are lightweight, easier to handle than stone versions, and fitted with construction adhesive. They resist moisture and impact, will not crack or swell, and can be painted. Because they are mould-cast, the fluting and profile details repeat identically on every shaft.
