Column capital models is the general name for the polyurethane capital types fitted to the upper end of a column. According to classical orders they may come in different forms, such as plain, leafed (acanthus-like) and volute; they are chosen to suit the column diameter and shaft type. They are used together with the shaft and base in facade and interior column applications. Polyurethane is lightweight and is fixed in place with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than stone and concrete, it makes installation at the upper point easier. Because it is mould-made, the motif details repeat identically across every model.
