A console capital is the decorative polyurethane capital part located at the top of a console that gives the appearance of carrying the top board. Completing the body of the console, this upper section is usually produced in a curved or profiled form and manages the transition between the shelf or board and the body. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied with installation adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted. Being light eases installation and, unlike wood, it is unaffected by moisture. Since it is mould-produced, the profile and curve details repeat identically on every piece.
