railing top cap

A railing top cap is a polyurethane profile element that covers the top surface of a railing or parapet wall. Placed on the upper edge of the railing, it both straightens the finishing line and seals the top surface against water and impact. It is used on balcony, terrace and stair railings as a handrail or capping profile. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Unlike timber capping it is unaffected by moisture, and it is much lighter than concrete and stone equivalents. Because it is mould-cast, the profile cross-section is identical on every piece and gives clean joints along long railing runs.
