stair handrail profile

A stair handrail profile is a long polyurethane moulding that forms the graspable handrail line along the top of a staircase balustrade. It is installed as a handrail between the posts or newels along the stair edge and also provides a decorative finish. The polyurethane profile is lightweight and applied with assembly adhesive and screws; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted any colour. Unlike a timber handrail it will not absorb moisture and swell, it is more flexible than plaster, and it can be joined to cover long runs.
