furniture appliqués (decorative)
Furniture appliqués is the general name for polyurethane relief ornaments glued to furniture facades. They are used on cabinet, display unit, wardrobe and headboard surfaces; with flower, leaf, scroll and corner motifs they give a plain surface a carved appearance. Polyurethane is lighter than wood carving and is applied directly with wood glue or construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the same appliqué can be repeated with identical detail across several pieces of furniture. Polure produces furniture appliqués in different sizes and motif options.
