A furniture motif defines the relief pattern on the polyurethane ornaments applied to a furniture surface. Motifs such as flower, leaf, acanthus, scroll and baroque ornament are used to give a classical surface pattern to cabinet, display unit and door facades. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied to the surface with wood glue or construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the motif details repeat with the same sharpness on every piece, ensuring pattern consistency across a furniture set.
