Furniture carving is a polyurethane relief ornament part that gives a furniture surface a wood-carving effect. It is used with leaf, flower and baroque motifs on classical and country-style cabinets, display units and headboards. Compared with real wood carving, it is lighter, faster to apply and more resistant to moisture. Polyurethane is applied directly to the surface with wood glue or construction adhesive; it does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted to match the furniture colour. Because it is mould-cast, the carving details repeat identically on every piece, ensuring pattern consistency across a furniture set.
