Modern slat panelling techniques refer to the methods of applying polyurethane slats to wall and ceiling surfaces in straight, geometric or partitioned arrangements. With these techniques, a panelled effect, linear lines and visual division are created on the surface. The polyurethane slats are lightweight and applied directly to the surface with assembly adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. They are lighter and faster to mount than wood slats and are unaffected by moisture; they are also more break-resistant than plaster. Because they are mould-cast, the slat profiles are identical on every piece, which ensures a regular, repeating layout.
