Modern recessed ceiling decoration is a clean arrangement made by applying flat-lined polyurethane cornice and moulding to the edges of a stepped, recessed ceiling section. The recess edge is framed, usually with a concealed LED strip placed behind it to provide indirect lighting. In modern layouts, crisp and understated sections are preferred. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted.
