water-resistant ceiling rose

A water-resistant ceiling rose is a round or carved decorative piece applied to the centre of the ceiling, made of polyurethane to suit damp areas. It is generally used to create a focal point around a chandelier or light outlet, and is preferred in bathrooms, kitchens and damp living rooms. Polyurethane does not absorb water and withstands moisture and impact; unlike a plaster rose it will not crack, blister or grow heavy and sag from moisture, and unlike wood it will not rot. Being light, it is fixed straight to the ceiling with mounting adhesive and installs in a short time. The surface takes paint. Because it is mould-cast, the relief detail repeats the same on every piece. Polure produces water-resistant ceiling roses in a range of diameters and patterns.
