oval dome
An oval dome is a polyurethane ceiling element that creates a curved, inward-rising volume with an oval plan on the ceiling. It is used at the centre of large ceilings to create depth and a dome effect, most often together with lighting and a chandelier. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied to the ceiling with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than plaster dome equivalents, it is installed without adding load to the ceiling and the installation time is reduced. Because it is mould-produced, the oval form and curve repeat identically on every piece. Polure manufactures oval domes in a range of sizes and depths.
