carved leaf motif

A carved leaf motif is a polyurethane decorative motif in which a leaf form is rendered as carved-look relief. It is used as a decorative element at the centres of ceiling medallions, at cornice corners, in wall panels and in borders. Polyurethane is lightweight and is fixed directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. It is lighter than carved wood and is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-produced, the vein and curl details of the leaf motif repeat identically on every piece.
