carved motif

A carved motif is a decorative polyurethane ornament applied to wall and furniture surfaces, carrying a pattern raised in relief by carving. It is used on cornices, frames, panels and furniture surfaces as a single or repeated decoration. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with construction adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Compared with plaster relief it has a low risk of breakage, and unlike wood carving it is unaffected by moisture or insects. Because it is mould-cast, the motif details are exactly the same on every piece. Polure produces carved motifs in a range of patterns and sizes.
