carved panel

A carved panel is a decorative polyurethane panel with a relief pattern worked into its surface by carving. It is used as wall cladding, a furniture surface and a partition screen to create a patterned face. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with construction adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike wood panels it carries no risk of moisture damage or insects, and unlike plaster panels it is not brittle. Because it is mould-cast, the carved motifs can be repeated across adjoining panels to form a continuous surface. Polure produces carved panels in a range of patterns and sizes.
