carved shelf bracket

A carved shelf bracket is a decorative polyurethane support piece with a carved-motif surface that carries a wall shelf from below. Beneath wall shelves, console tops and niche shelves it creates a diagonal support look and serves a decorative purpose with its carved ornamentation. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied with construction adhesive and, where needed, screws, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture, and unlike plaster it is not brittle. Because it is mould-cast, the carved details repeat identically on every piece.
