Carved crown decoration is a crown-shaped decorative polyurethane element placed above doors, windows or niches, carrying a motif raised in relief by carving. It is used above doors and windows as a symmetrical ornament that crowns the top and rises at the centre. The polyurethane material is lightweight; it is applied directly with construction adhesive, resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Unlike a wood-carved crown it is unaffected by moisture, and unlike plaster it is not brittle. Because it is mould-cast, the carved details are exactly the same on every piece.
