Window framing is a decorative application in which polyurethane surround and sill elements are applied around a window opening to create a frame for the window. By adding surrounds at the sides and top, an arch or pediment above, and a sill below, an accented window appearance is achieved on the facade or indoors. The polyurethane elements used are light and applied directly to the surface with mounting adhesive; they resist moisture and impact, do not crack or swell and can be painted. This keeps them durable against rain and sun on exterior facades. Being light compared to plaster and stone equivalents makes installation at height easier. Mould production ensures the surround cross-section comes out identically in every piece, achieving neat joints at the corners.
