A polyurethane lighting column is a decorative column that can have a light source integrated into its shaft or use lighting around it. It is used in interiors and exteriors to create both a supporting appearance and a lighting accent. The material is lightweight and bonds directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, swell or warp, and takes paint well. Its lightweight shaft makes transport and installation easier; on facades, unlike plaster it is unaffected by moisture and temperature change. The column is produced to match the dimensions of its capital and base pieces. Because each piece is cast from a mould, the surface detailing repeats identically across every unit.
