Polyurethane decor is the general name for mould-cast decorative elements made from polyurethane and used to embellish interior and exterior surfaces. It covers products such as cornices, door surrounds, columns, borders, ceiling roses and medallions; it is applied to walls, ceilings and facades to create a classic or plain decorative look. The polyurethane material is lightweight and mounted directly with adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, will not crack, swell or split, and takes paint well. Compared with its plaster equivalent it travels without breaking and installs faster, and unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture.
