polyurethane capital

A polyurethane capital is the polyurethane version of a column capital that sits on top of the column shaft and provides the transition between the shaft and the entablature. It is used at the top of columns and pilasters as capital ornamentation suited to classical orders. Polyurethane is lightweight and is applied to the column shaft with mounting adhesive; unlike heavy stone capitals, it needs no additional support. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted after priming to match the colour of the room. Because it is mould-cast, the leaf, volute and profile details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces capitals in sizes suited to different column diameters and classical orders.
