Polyurethane Furniture Ornament

A polyurethane furniture ornament is a decorative relief made from polyurethane and applied to furniture surfaces. It is used on cabinet doors, display unit pediments, table edges and headboard panels to create a classic or carved look. Compared with wood, polyurethane is lightweight, resistant to moisture and insects, and does not crack or swell; it is fixed to furniture with construction adhesive or screws. Because it can be painted, it can be matched to the colour of the furniture and finished with techniques such as antiquing or gilding.
