A polyurethane building element is the general name for ready-made components, made of polyurethane, used for decorative or functional purposes on the interior and exterior of a building. It covers pieces such as window surrounds, cornices, columns, sills and profiles, and is used to create ornamentation on the facade and indoors. The polyurethane is lightweight and is applied with construction adhesive and, where needed, screws; it resists moisture, frost and impact, does not crack or swell and can be painted. Being much lighter than a concrete or stone equivalent, it puts little load on the facade and installs quickly. As it is mould-cast, dimensional and pattern consistency is maintained on every piece.
