water-resistant surround

A water-resistant surround is a window and door frame element made from polyurethane and suited to humid environments and exterior facades. A surround is the decorative band that frames the edges of windows and doors; since it is exposed to rain, moisture and weather on the facade, water resistance is important. Thanks to its closed-cell, non-absorbent structure, polyurethane resists moisture; it does not crack, swell or expand and withstands freeze-thaw cycles. It is lightweight, applied directly with mounting adhesive and can be painted. Compared with plaster and wood, it lasts much longer on exterior facades and needs no maintenance. Polure produces water-resistant surrounds by mold in different widths and profile options.
