ceiling medallion

A ceiling medallion is a round or oval polyurethane decorative element applied to the central section of the ceiling, usually at the chandelier connection point. On living room, hall and dining room ceilings it is used to frame the lighting and give the ceiling a focal point. The polyurethane medallion is lightweight and applied directly to the ceiling with construction adhesive; a central hole can be opened for the chandelier cable. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Because it is mould-cast, the motif details repeat identically on every piece. Being lighter than a plaster medallion makes installation easier and it is applied independently of the chandelier's weight. Polure produces ceiling medallions in various diameter and motif options.
