voluted bracket

A voluted bracket is a polyurethane console bracket shaped with a spiral scroll (volute) form. It is mounted to the wall to support shelves, sills, upper cornices or overhangs and to create a decorative load-bearing appearance between the wall and a horizontal element. The volute scroll sits on the side face of the bracket as a classical ornamental element. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted. Being lighter than its stone and wood equivalents, it makes installation easier and adds no load to the wall. Because it is mould-produced, the volute scroll and relief details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces the voluted bracket in a range of projections and sizes.
