round column base

A round column base is a stepped polyurethane base (plinth) element used at the lower part of a circular-section column where it rests on the floor. It forms the transition between the column body and the floor and completes the lower finish of the column; in classical and neoclassical column arrangements it is applied together with the column capital. It is used in interior and exterior column applications and at entrance and hall columns. The polyurethane material is light and applied with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted. Because it is mould-produced, the profile steps repeat identically on every piece. Its lightness compared to a marble or stone base makes installation easier. Polure produces round column bases in different diameter and height options.
