- Step 1: Wall Preparation and Marking — Inspect the wall substrate to confirm it is fully dry, level, and free of contaminants. Measure the facade alignment using a laser level, marking precise target lines for every cladding section. Estimated time: 30–45 minutes per elevation. Common mistake: Mounting over damp or crumbling plaster, which leads to total bond failure.
- Step 2: Profile Measurement and 45-Degree Miter Cutting — Measure profile lengths accurately, accounting for corner intersections. Cut profile edges at a precise 45-degree miter angle using a fine-tooth miter saw to ensure tight, seamless corner joints. Estimated time: 10 minutes per profile. Common mistake: Cutting with coarse hand saws, which creates jagged polyurethane edges that hinder flush seam alignment.
- Step 3: Polyurethane Adhesive Application — Apply continuous beads of polyurethane-based assembly adhesive along the rear mounting channels and joint connections of the profile. Never use silicone adhesive under any circumstance. Estimated time: 5 minutes per profile. Common mistake: Applying spot-dots of adhesive instead of continuous beads, allowing water infiltration behind the cladding.
- Step 4: Mechanical Fixing with Screws and Dowels — Press the profile firmly against the substrate and drill anchor holes through the designated recessed grooves. Secure the element mechanically using corrosion-resistant screws and masonry dowels spaced every 40-50 cm. Estimated time: 15 minutes per section. Common mistake: Relying solely on adhesive and omitting mandatory mechanical dowels.
- Step 5: Joint Filling and Sanding — Fill all screw recesses and profile joints with exterior-grade joint putty. Allow full curing according to manufacturer guidelines, then sand the seams perfectly flush using grano 180-220 sandpaper. Estimated time: 30 minutes active labour (plus drying time). Common mistake: Using coarse sandpaper under 150 grit, which scratches the factory-primed profile surface.
- Step 6: Primer Verification and Final UV Coating — Ensure all sanded joints are dust-free. Apply an optional exterior primer coat if recommended by the paint manufacturer, followed by 2 complete coats of UV-resistant exterior paint. Estimated time: 1-2 hours (plus drying intervals). Common mistake: Using interior-grade or non-UV paint, causing rapid discoloration and surface chalking under direct sunlight.
