paintable niche
A paintable niche is a polyurethane frame element produced with a paint-accepting surface that gives the appearance of a recessed decorative space within the wall. It is used on living room, corridor and bedroom walls to frame an area for a picture, mirror or accessory. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is applied directly to the wall with assembly adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or warp, and can be painted the same tone as the wall or a different one. It is lighter than a plaster niche and installs faster; unlike wood it is unaffected by moisture. Because it is mould-cast, the profile and ornamentation of the niche frame stay the same on every piece. Once painted, it creates a framed focal area on the wall. Polure produces paintable niche models in different sizes and pattern options.
