A decorative rafter end cap is a polyurethane finishing piece that closes the exposed end or connection point of a rafter. It is used under the eaves to cover the visible end of the rafter and provide a clean, completed finish. The polyurethane cap is lightweight and is applied directly to the surface with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted in a wood tone. Compared to real wood, it does not rot, attract insects, or warp. Because it is mould-produced, the cap details repeat identically on every piece.
