A decorative polyurethane column is a polyurethane decoration element that gives a space the appearance of a column. It is applied in interiors and on facades as a free-standing fully round column or a wall-attached half-column; it consists of a shaft, base, and capital. The polyurethane column is decorative and carries no load; it is also used to clad existing structural columns. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive, and labour is faster than with a stone or concrete column. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted. Because it is moulded, the profile and details repeat identically on every piece.
