A decorative rose is a polyurethane ornament, usually circular and in relief, applied to a ceiling or wall surface. It is used as a ceiling rose at the chandelier mounting point or as a single ornament on a wall. The polyurethane rose is light and fixes directly to the surface with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and takes paint. Being lighter than a plaster rose, it puts no load on the ceiling, installs faster and holds no water. Because it is mould-cast, the raised detailing repeats identically on every piece.
